Arcadia, Florida
On March 12, 1988, Tanika Summer was born in Arcadia, Florida, to her parents, Jackquelyn Dixon, and Gregory Summers, Sr. Tanika Was a vibrant, beautiful soul who impacted the life of everyone she encountered. At an early age, she accepted Christ and was baptized at St. John Missionary Baptist Church, laying a spiritual foundation that would guide her throughout her life. She was a proud graduate of DeSoto County High School, Class of 2006, and continued her education with passion and purpose.
Tanika attended South Florida State College, where she studied childcare, child development, and program management. She furthered her education at the University of Connecticut, majoring in family development, and later attended Sunstate Academy, where she pursued massage therapy and esthetics, earning multiple certifications along the way. The greatest joy of her life arrived with the birth of her daughter, Eriauna Robinson. Above all, Tanika was a devoted and loving mother. Eriauna was her greatest joy and the center of her world. Tanika loved fiercely and unapologetically, always striving to giver her daughter the very best of herself.
Tanika was a dedicated and compassionate professional who touched many lives through her work. She cared for countless children during her time with RCMA, and also worked at Sunseeker Resort. As a proud entrepreneur, she founded Tanika's Self Care Luxury Spa, located inside Hello Beautiful Salon where she poured her heart into helping others feel beautiful, confident, and cared for. She enjoyed life's simple pleasures, spa days, music, self-care, and building her business. She often reminded others that "self care is the best care," a reflection of how deeply she valued wellness and self-worth. Known for her strength and independence, she proudly embraced the tittle "Miss Independent."
Tanika's light radiated far beyond her immediate circle. She was a souce of love, strength, and inspiration to her family, friends, and community. Her presence left a lasting imprint throughout DeSoto County and beyond, and her legacy will continue to shine through every life she touched. She leaves to cherish her precious memories: her beloved daughter, Eriauna Robinson; her parents Jackquelyn Dixon and Greg Summer, Sr.; her siblings Lutresa (Moses) Bennett, Tyeta Dickerson, Laticia Summers, and Gregory Summers, Jr,; her grandmother, Mary Luther; and a host of auns, uncles, cousins, extended family, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, John Summers, Elliot (Winnie) Dixon, Gladys Golsby, and her beloved sister Catandra Summers. Through her life ended far too soon, Tanika's love, strength, and spirit will never fade. Her light will continue to shine in her daughter, her family, and all who were blessed to know her.
